Now Hiring – Rock-Star Legal Assistant – Part-Time

Are you looking for a part-time position that enables you to work directly with clients, make critical decisions, and be part of an exciting, growing law firm?
Are you obsessive about details, careful with your work, and fanatical about customer service?
If so, this might be a good fit for you!
We are looking for a new Assistant Case Manager to join our law firm.
We focus on traffic and misdemeanor defense, which is a high-volume practice. You’ll have to be organized and capable of keeping up with a fast-paced business while not sacrificing customer service.
You must be prompt and dependable, since this position is the heartbeat of the firm.
Specific duties will include:
- Answering the phone with a smile every single time
- Fielding questions from clients and relaying answers
- Reminding clients about deadlines and tasks they need to complete
- Obtaining records from courts and other government offices
- Talking with clerks’ offices about continuances
- Maintaining the firm calendar
- Drafting letters and emails to clients
- Running local errands a couple days each week (e.g., going to courthouses)
- Performing some light janitorial work
You must have the basic skills to do all the above. I’m not looking for someone with law firm experience, but you must be able to hit the ground running as you learn the specifics of working in our office. You’ll be required to work independently and hold down the fort by yourself during your shift.
Computer skills are essential in our paperless practice. You should know Word, Excel, and Acrobat, and you should be comfortable learning new programs.
We have a small office, so there’s no such thing as “not in my job description.” This means you will have opportunities to learn new things and broaden your skills, but it also means you’ll have to help with the trash.
Starting pay is $17.50 per hour, with raises as you learn and grow with our team. You must be willing to sign a non-disclosure and non-compete agreement.
This is a Monday through Friday position for 25 hours per week. The initial schedule for training in October will be 11am to 4pm. After training, your normal work schedule will be 1pm to 6pm. There will be opportunities to work additional hours by covering the morning shift when our Case Manager is on vacation.
Benefits include paid vacation, paid holidays off, and firm-funded retirement IRA after 3 years with us.
To apply, you MUST follow these directions (deadline Wednesday, September 10):
- Send an email to andrew@andrewflusche.com.
- Use this subject line: I am your new Assistant Case Manager!
- In the body of the email, tell me why you’re the right choice for this position.
- Attach your resume to the email as a PDF.
- Do NOT call. Only submit applications by email as explained above. If you fail to follow these directions, we will delete your application.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Andrew
