Critical Fredericksburg Residential Zoning Hearing
Did you know that the Fredericksburg City Council is considering an important residential zoning change?
There is a public hearing on March 25 that all property owners and residents of Fredericksburg should attend. This isn’t a small matter.
I admittedly haven’t followed this issue very closely, since I rent in Spotsylvania County. But the proposed change would limit what residential property owners can build on their property. Proponents claim the zoning change is needed to preserve Fredericksburg’s historic character. I would argue that the market should remain largely free and open. And isn’t property more valuable if you can do more with it?
